6-Day Private Egypt Tour – Cairo, Luxor & Aswan
This 6-day private Egypt tour through Cairo, Luxor and Aswan is built for travelers with limited time who still want to see Egypt’s three most important cultural destinations. Instead of adding a multi-night Nile cruise, the itinerary uses domestic flights and a private Luxor-to-Aswan transfer so more of the six days can be spent sightseeing.
The route covers the Giza Pyramids, Great Sphinx and Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo, followed by historic Cairo, Luxor’s East and West Banks and Philae Temple in Aswan.
How Much Can You See in Egypt in 6 Days?
Six days is a compact schedule, but this route avoids unnecessary backtracking. Cairo is used as the arrival base, Luxor receives a full day for its major monuments, and Aswan is reached by private vehicle before the final domestic flight back to Cairo.
- 2 nights in Cairo: Giza, GEM and historic Cairo sightseeing.
- 2 nights in Luxor: Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut, Karnak and Luxor Temple.
- 1 night in Aswan: Philae Temple and time by the Nile.
- Domestic flights: Cairo to Luxor and Aswan to Cairo.
Cairo, Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum
For first-time visitors, Cairo is usually the starting point for understanding ancient Egypt. Before your tour, our Giza Pyramids visitor guide covers the plateau and practical visiting tips, while our Grand Egyptian Museum guide explains the museum experience.
Luxor and Aswan in a Short Egypt Itinerary
The Luxor day includes both sides of the Nile: royal tombs and Hatshepsut Temple on the West Bank, then Karnak and Luxor Temple on the East Bank. Read our Karnak Temple vs Luxor Temple guide if you want more context before arrival.
On Day 5, the tour continues to Aswan by private vehicle and includes Philae Temple. Our Philae Temple and Aswan guide covers the island temple and local logistics.
Who Is This 6-Day Egypt Tour Best For?
This itinerary suits first-time visitors, couples and private groups who have less than a week and want a focused cultural trip rather than a beach stay or longer cruise. It is relatively active, so travelers who prefer slower mornings or extended leisure time may be better with a 7- or 8-day program.
